OPM Tankobon 02 Extra Chapter

Okay, here's the extra chapter from the second tankobon release of OPM. It's very short, but very worth it. Again, thanks to the guy who originally uploaded these two extra chapters. As you can see from my release dates, I'm taking it nice and slow. I've been really busy in the last few weeks and I fear it's going to stay that way for a while, but once I have a little more time, I might start a new manga to translate alongside of OPM. We know how well that worked last time... lol

If you don't feel like reading it online or if you want to have the RAWs, go to this Mediafile folder. The Picasa gallery is only meant to be a preview of sorts anyway.

  1. So, the loss of the bad tooth caused him to reach the OP level?

    1. No, I wouldn't say that. The loss of the bad tooth didn't make him stronger, it just got rid of what was bothering him, annoying him and making him suffer. He was gradually getting stronger, with or without that tooth.

    2. Here's an idea I had about how Saitama got as strong as he is now.

He might be a mysterious being. You see all these mysterious beings that were once normal human beings who were totally absorbed into one thing and became the personification of it (Light pull cord guy, Crab guy etc.). Well, in Saitama's case it was his training. He was so absorbed in his power training that he became the personification of power as a mysterious being. Now I need someone to explain to me why he didn't turn out as evil or as aggressive as the other mysterious beings. Maybe it's because he's always been a strange guy, unlike others and "unfit to society" as he said it himself.

This is my explanation for his powers.

    4. @TranslatorFag: Actually that makes a lot of sense, i have been wondering this chapter too "why didn't saitama became a monster?"
maybe because he was so obsessed to become a hero, unlike the crab guy who did it because he was a gluttony, or this guy who was merely looking for a fight.
Maybe this applies to the other superpowered heros in the association too. Since i don't know japanese i don't know if they explained their powers, but maybe the undead guy was just so focused on living that he gained the ability to revive himself as a zombie?

    5. Good theory. Makes sense to a degree.
Well, maybe we'll learn more in future chapters.

    6. @TranslatorFag That makes ALOT of sense, though the whole "mysterious being" thing is still... mysterious.

I imagine the reason he didn't go"bad" is become ultimately his goal was not to become "strong" to become a "hero. So he's the personification of "being a hero" and hero are the good guys.

    7. @TranslatorFag Yeah I have been thinking of the same theory, and the reason why I believe why his personality didn't change was because the mysterious beings had some evil/selfish intent with their power.

I'd like to suggest this title by YOKO:
    戦下に咲く
    http://www.shonenjump.com/j/manga-shou/treasure/comics/12ketsu_senka-ni-saku.html

It won honorable mention in Jump Treasure, and I was quite curious about it.
I could clean the pages for you if you want.
